Removal Scotland Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Removal Scotland takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are firmly committed to conducting business in an ethical and responsible manner, and to upholding the rights and dignity of every person who may be impacted by our activities.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Removal Scotland has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and child labour. We do not accept, condone, or overlook any practice that undermines the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals. This commitment applies to our own workforce, our subcontractors, and our entire supply chain.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to act with integrity and in full compliance with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights. Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removal Scotland provides removal, relocation, and related services. Our operations rely on a network of suppliers and partners who may provide vehicles, equipment, storage facilities, packaging materials, and labour. We recognise that the risks of modern slavery can arise at different tiers of the supply chain, particularly in relation to temporary labour provision and the sourcing of goods such as packaging or uniforms.
We seek to work only with reputable suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct. We expect all business partners to comply with national laws and international standards regarding labour, employment, and human rights.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Removal Scotland undertakes due diligence on key suppliers and service providers to assess potential risks of modern slavery. Before entering into or renewing contracts, we consider the nature of the goods or services and the geographic and sector risks associated with them.
We reserve the right to carry out audits of suppliers, either directly or through third parties, to review their labour practices, recruitment processes, and working conditions. Where appropriate, we request evidence of policies, training, and controls that address modern slavery and human trafficking. If we identify concerns, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within clear timeframes. Failure to address significant issues may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Policies, Training, and Awareness
Our internal policies, including our conduct and recruitment practices, are designed to reduce the risk of exploitation and to promote fair treatment. We conduct right to work checks and require that all recruitment, whether internal or through agencies, is transparent, voluntary, and free from unethical fees or coercion.
We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, contract management, and supervision of frontline operations. Training and guidance focus on recognising warning signs, understanding our zero-tolerance stance, and knowing how to report concerns.
Reporting Channels and Protection
Removal Scotland encourages all employees, contractors, and stakeholders to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns may relate to the treatment of workers, recruitment practices, living conditions, or any indication of coercion or control.
Reports can be made through our internal reporting routes or raised with line managers or senior management. We are committed to treating all reports seriously, investigating them promptly, and taking appropriate action. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We recognise that combatting modern slavery requires ongoing vigilance and improvement. Removal Scotland will review this Modern Slavery Statement and our related measures at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, operations, or identified risks.
As part of this annual review, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our due diligence, supplier audits, training, and reporting processes. Where necessary, we will strengthen our controls, update our policies, and enhance engagement with suppliers and employees to improve our overall response to modern slavery risks.
This Statement reflects Removal Scotland's commitment to acting ethically, respecting human rights, and working diligently to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
